Hi, just came across your site in my research on artisanal foods in the LA area. FYI - there was a case of someone getting 'popcorn lung' from inhaling microwave popcorn smells daily for years... let's see, http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/09/06/health/main3239379.shtml.

Well said Rob. It's true that from the customer's standpoint this may not be a top priority, but from ours it is. We do use the best quality ingredients (which will be included in a subsequent post), but in defining what makes our mustards different, I feel that the fact that we actually MAKE mustard sets us apart from a large number of mustards on the shelf.

Yes, but why does this matter to the consumer? Why is creating mustard with pre-created mustard not as good as creating it from scratch.

Seems to me that reason number 1 should capture something more essential about what you guys do.

If what you want to say is, "we use the best quality ingredients," then that makes more sense for why I should a) care about your mustard and b) your mustard is better than the others.

Champagne's not really yellow, either, nor is garlic. If I'm a consumer expecting plain mustard from the grocery store, then yes, I would be expecting yellow mustard. But if it's called "champagne garlic," then no, I'm not.

Oh, we, the masses will definitely demand The Mustard!

Good luck with the sales, Zach! Not an easy task to be sure, but when you believe in your product, it certainly makes things easier.

Without your emotional investment, no one else would care passionately about your business. If you want to create a boring business that delivers a commodity and makes money, that's fine. But I don't think you want that. You want a remarkable business, and the only way to get there is through caring about it so much that sometimes it hurts.
